Nov 15, 2020 | 9:28 PM

A positive case of COVID-19 has been identified at Prince Albert’s École St. Mary High School.

In a media release, the P.A. Catholic School Division said the case had been identified by Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) officials Sunday. Communication of a possible exposure has been shared with a specific classroom/cohort, as well as the school community.

SHA is proceeding with their assessment of the situation, and all individuals deemed to be close contacts have been notified. École St. Mary High School will resume classes Nov.16, for all students and staff.

We received notification that an individual in our school has tested positive for COVID-19 and that this individual was last present on Nov.6, therefore Public Health officials are advising all students and staff to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily and not to enter the school if ill, the media release said.

This case has not been school acquired. Due to the safety protocols that are in place, this case is deemed to be a potential exposure and is of low risk. To protect privacy, we are not able to share or discuss details. The classroom/cohort impacted by this case, barring any other cases, are required to monitor for symptoms until midnight on Nov.20, and are being advised to contact 811 Healthline for advice.

The students and families of École St. Mary School will be receive any updates using the Edsby Portal.
