Bears season opener, Mintos contest vs. Trojans both cancelled

After an eight-month wait to play another hockey game that counts, the Prince Albert Northern Bears learned on Saturday that the wait will have to continue.

They were slated to begin the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League 2020-21 season against the Saskatoon Stars at the Art Hauser Centre, but the game was cancelled due to weather.

The Bears and Stars were also supposed to play on Oct. 25 for a preseason game, but that was also cancelled.

Both teams are scheduled to meet on Sunday, 5 p.m. at the SaskTel Centre.

The Mintos and Trojans were meant to start a home-and-home series against each other, 7:30 p.m. at the Tisdale RecPlex, but the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League game has been officially snowed out.

The Mintos and Trojans are still scheduled to come to the Art Hauser Centre at 1:30 p.m.
