Agriculture Roundup for Friday October 30, 2020
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has launched a new internet tool to help farmers take the guesswork out of crop yields.
Agroclimate Information Services Manager Catherine Champagne said Ag Canada has a lot of data and the user-friendly web tool gathers all the information and puts it into interactive maps.
“It brings it all together in one place so people can look at the forecast, look at the historical yield for the area they live in and look at all of the other pieces of information that is driving the yields that year,” Champagne said.
The yield forecasts are adjusted throughout the growing season, considering changing weather conditions.
