Prince Albert’s Braden Schneider and Prince Albert Raider Kaiden Guhle have been invited to Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp from Nov. 16 to Dec. 13 in Red Deer, Alta.

Both were selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft earlier this month, with Guhle heading to the Montreal Canadiens 16th overall, while Schneider was selected right after by the New York Rangers 19th overall.

Both make up two of the 14 spots reserved for defencemen. Other defenceman from the WHL on the selection camp roster are Bowen Byram (Vancouver Giants), Daemon Hunt (Moose Jaw Warriors), Kaedan Korczak (Kelowna Rockets) and Matthew Robertson (Edmonton Oil Kings).

Another notable selection on the team Kingston Frontenac’s Shane Wright, the young phenom who isn’t eligible until the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

The camp this year will be a lot different due to COVID-19. The camp will run for almost a month from Nov. 16 to Dec. 13 in Red Deer. The team will then enter the bubble in Edmonton before the tournament kicks off on Dec. 26 against Germany.
