As hockey leagues across the world negotiate a difficult beginning to the 2020-21 season, NHL Central Scouting has issued its preliminary players to watch list for the 2021 NHL Draft.

Making the list are three Prince Albert Raiders, with defenceman Nolan Allan receiving a B rating, indicating a potential second or third round pick.

Allan was selected third overall by the Raiders in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft after starring with the Humboldt Bantam AA Broncos the season before. The Davidson, SK native spent one season with the Saskatoon Midget AAA Blazers where he earned a nod as the league’s top defenseman before moving on to the WHL.

As a rookie, Allan appeared in 58 games, scoring two goals and adding six assists.

After Allan, defenceman Landon Kosior and goaltender Carter Serhyenko received C ratings, suggesting they could be selected in the fourth round or later.

Kosior was eligible to be drafted in 2020 after a stellar rookie season with the Raiders in which he scored five goals and registered 23 points from the blueline. He was rated 98th among North American skaters heading into the draft, but was not selected.

Serhyenko cracked the Raider lineup out of training camp in 2019 after playing for the Battleford Midget AAA Stars the season prior. In 15 appearances with the Raiders last season, Serhyenko had a record of 7-5-0-1, with a goals against average of 2.21 and a save percentage of 0.916.

Also included on the list is Raider prospect Brett Moravec. Drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 WHL bantam draft, Moravec played last season with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
