MELFORT, Sask. – Four seed sector organizations will go ahead with plans to become one new, national organization.
Canadian Plant Technology Agency, Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada, Canadian Seed Institute, Canadian Seed Trade Association, and the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA) had been working for five years to join forces.
This summer the five organizations put the Seeds Canada amalgamation proposal to their respective memberships for a vote. CSGA members did not vote in favour and will not be part of the amalgamation.
Seeds Canada will become a new entity in February 2021, once the membership formally approves the merger.
