Prince Albert murder case proceeds to trial

Sep 25, 2020 | 5:00 PM

For the second time in less than six months, a Prince Albert murder case, dating back over three years, will be discussed at length in a courtroom.

Lenny Daniels, 27, is facing a charge of first-degree murder. He was one of four people charged in the death of Duane Brett Ledoux in August 2017.

One week has been set aside for the trial next week at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench, and will be tried by judge alone.

On Aug. 16, 2017, Duane Ledoux’s body was found inside a home in the city in the 800 block of 17th St. W.

Two of the co-accused Boden Umpherville and William Chaboyer were sentenced last April, and each received a three-year prison sentence. The attack was gang-related according to evidence heard in court.

Marissa Bird is scheduled to face trial in February 2021.
