Agriculture Roundup for Wednesday September 23, 2020
SASKATCHEWAN – The Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre (CMBTC) launched a website that will give users a closer look at the 2020 barley growing season and harvest.
The website, which features crop quality, photos, and videos, was set up to replace western Canadian crop tours for international malt customers that were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Managing Director Peter Watts said buyers who would normally be able to see the crop firsthand will be able to get a sense of the quality of this year’s malting barley crop through the photos and information available on the website.
CMBTC is also developing a more in-depth video to showcase the quality and progress of the Canadian barley crop for the year. The video will be released later this fall.
