Council to discuss Quality Inn sale and crime reduction strategies

Sep 8, 2020 | 8:00 AM

The sale of the former Quality Inn will be the big item on the agenda when Prince Albert city councillors meet on Tuesday night.

The seven offers the City received on the defunct hotel were revealed on Thursday. The recommended buyer bid $900,000 and wants to turn the property into affordable student housing and accommodation for families visiting loved ones in hospital.

Councillors will also discuss a potential program aimed at combatting crime that would let residents purchase motion sensor lights at cost. The possible creation of designated zones near police stations where the public could meet to exchange goods purchased on the internet are also the agenda.
