MELFORT, Sask. – After a mixed growing season, many Alberta farmers are looking at financial management options.
Alberta producers of over 50 agricultural commodities including crops, livestock and honey can now apply for FarmCash for the post-harvest fall advance starting today.
Farmers may be eligible to receive cash advances up to $1 million with the first $100,000 interest free, and the remainder at an interest rate of TD Prime minus 0.75 per cent.
FarmCash is an Advance Payments Program option under Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and is administered by the Alberta Wheat Commission.
