Warm weather helps some crops progress in latest crop report
SASKATCHEWAN – Harvest operations have just started in some portions of the province.
The latest crop report is showing the warm weather helped crops progress, and most farmers are estimating their crops are at the normal development stage.
However, there was minimal rain across the province this week, and it would be welcome for the cereals and pulses in the seed filling stages.
That warm and dry weather has also resulted in reduced pasture growth in many areas. Pasture conditions are 39 per cent fair, and 34 per cent good, and only three per cent excellent with the rest in the poor or very poor range.
