Accused in weapons bust pleads not guilty

Not guilty pleas have been entered in a Prince Albert court case which involved a vehicle stop and weapons seizure last April.

Accused Christy Simaganis and Vance Linklater face a number charges in connection to the April 22 incident, including possession of a restricted firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Two large machetes, a can of bear spray, and a sawed off shotgun were among the items seized by police after the vehicle stop near 15th St. W. and 12th. Ave. W.

David Ross was also charged, but according to a statement in court Thursday by Simaganis’s lawyer Christopher Koban, Ross “has disappeared into the wind.”
