A man accused of robbing a Prince Albert taxi driver at gunpoint will face trial.

As part of a hearing Tuesday afternoon at Prince Albert Provincial Court, Franklin Mercredi’s lawyer Jock Kriegler entered not guilty pleas to three separate charges: robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon, and a breach of a previous court order.

The incident allegedly took place Nov. 29, 2019 in the 1200 block of 28th St. E.

According to information provided by police at the time, a male suspect held up a taxi driver at gunpoint for money and a cellphone, before fleeing. The taxi driver was not injured.
