P.A. police investigating early morning homicide

UPDATE: The Prince Albert Police has released the identity of Monday’s homicide victim. He was Dorian Gene Michel, aged 27.

Prince Albert are reporting a homicide in the city in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to a residence in the 400 Block of 18th Street West at around 12:30 a.m. for a report of a serious assault.

“The man was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries,” spokesperson Charlene Tebbutt told paNOW. “Members from the Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Section are investigating. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning.”

Tebbutt explained why the manner and cause of death would not be released at this time.

“It’s very early in the investigation; this incident happened just earlier today so police are still working to determine the facts of the case and exactly what happened and until they can there won’t be further information,” she said.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
