A man who has been in custody at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for nearly 40 years, has passed away.
Dennis Bunn died Tuesday of apparent natural causes, according to a news release from Correctional Service Canada.
Bunn had been in custody since September 28, 1981, serving an indeterminate sentence for assault causing bodily harm and second-degree murder.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
