No repaving hold-ups despite poor weather
Despite some exceptionally wet weather, Prince Albert city crews are making good use of the construction season.
Surface works manager Marcel Gareau told paNOW this year’s $4.4 million paving program is on track, with around 40 per cent of the 6.6 kilometers of city streets and avenues slated for repaving now complete.
“It’s rained basically every two to three days,” Gareau said. “Which is certainly a big struggle with pouring concrete and laying asphalt. So it’s slowing us down, but we’re being efficient. Paving our streets is one of our top priorities, so we’re making it work.”
Seventh Avenue W. from 20th to 22nd Street W. and 20th Street W. from Sixth to Eighth Avenue will be closed from Tuesday until July 30 for paving.
