Arrests made after warrant executed on large drug trafficking operation

A two-month investigation and a search warrant executed yesterday led police to two arrests, a large quantity of drugs and more than $100,000 cash.

The two people are facing numerous charges stemming from the Street Enforcement Team, Crime Reduction Team and Special Weapons and Tactics Team investigation.

The search warrant was executed at a residence in Stull Place around 7:30 p.m. yesterday.

Inside the home police located 285.5 grams of crack cocaine, 2,065 grams of cocaine, 335 grams of a cutting agent, a rifle, cellphones and drug packaging materials.

Nineteen-year-old Chante Bear and 29-year-old Brandon Vermette are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and various firearms-related charges.

Vermette also faces additional firearms-related charges of possession of weapons while prohibited, contrary to a 2018 court order.
