The Prince Albert Winter Festival held their Annual General Meeting on Monday night at the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation.

President Bev Erickson told paNOW during the meeting they discussed a contingency plan for next years festival if the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevalent.

“If coronavirus takes over again and numbers are limited, we talked just briefly about a contingency plan, of course nothing is set in stone,” she said.

She added they discussed a virtual format as an option for the 2021 Winter Festival.

“But we are hoping that it’s not going to have to be an option that we’re going to be able to have at least 150 people in a spot,” she explained.

Erickson said everything is still up in the air at this point and they were discussing potential ideas.

“We didn’t really get into it. We thought we’ll wait until the fall and see what the Saskatchewan government is suggesting as far as numbers and events go,” she said.

Erickson said they also had openings for six board members. Those re-elected were Bev Erickson, Trina Joseph, Taras Kachkowski and Dennis Adams. The two new members are Brook Andrews and Shawn Roberts.

She added If anyone wants to become a volunteer to visit their website or Facebook page to apply.

The board is also looking for button designs for next years festival. The only requirement is it must have blue and red in the design. They can be sent in PDF form via email to pawf.president@gmail.com.

Despite the 2021 Prince Albert Winter Festival being seven months away, Erickson said she feels confident there will be a festival in some aspect.

“It takes a village to run a festival like this because it’s so big and new people are always welcome.”
