A new slate of directors will guide Cereals Canada through its amalgamation with the Canadian International Grains Institute.

The board of directors elected Todd Hames with Alberta Wheat as its new chair.

Three members of the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission are on the board, Brett Halstead, Jake Leguee and Glenn Tait.

The next major step of the amalgamation process is the appointment of a CEO for the new organization.

Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) will host its first-ever virtual annual general meeting tomorrow.

CWA President Chris Lees and CEO Chris Lane will discuss the 2019 show, and financial results. CWA membership will elect their board of directors.

Members can log in to www.agribition.com at 1:00 p.m.

Nominations are being accepted for the Saskatchewan Forage Industry Innovation Award.

Each year the Saskatchewan Forage Council recognizes exemplary innovation, leadership, service and stewardship by producers, land managers, agency staff and researchers.

The award is usually presented at the annual general meeting in June which was postponed because of gathering restrictions. The deadline for nominations was extended to July 10.
