The 2020 Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame (PASHOF) banquet is postponed until early 2021.

According to a media release, the banquet was scheduled to take place on May 2 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At a board of directors meeting last week, members made the difficult decision to move the banquet and a new date will be announced this fall.

The inductees were announced earlier this year and were set to take place in the Ches Leach Lounge.

“The Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame Banquet is an opportunity for the inductees to celebrate with family and friends, and be honoured in a special way,” PASHOF President Ellen Grewcock said. “In order to keep everyone safe during these uncertain times, the decision has been made to move the banquet until next year, when we look forward to honouring the Class of 2020.”

The inductees include Dalyce Emmerson, Dwayne Gareau, Scott Byrne, Martin Ring, Andy and Merle Kozun, Barry Schrader, Wendell Whitter, Bill Watson and the 1973 East End/1975 Old Dutch Twins. The Prince Albert Lacrosse Association was also named the Sports Organization of the Year.
