P.A. murder case proceeding to trial

Jun 22, 2020 | 12:00 PM

Fifteen months after a 22-year-old man died from an assault at the Rivercrest Apartment building in the city’s downtown, dates have been set for the related trial.

Raymond Kenneth Bear, Emilio Bouvier, Keegan Dustin Eagle, Lindsay Henderson and Joseph Okemaysim are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kristopher Charles.

At the conclusion of a pre-trial hearing on Friday, the dates of Nov. 23 to Dec. 11 were set for the non-jury trial at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench.

On March 22, 2019, police were called to Rivercrest Apartments for a complaint of an assault in progress. Once on scene, the officers located Charles in critical condition. He was transported to the Victoria Hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased.

At the time of the initial arrests, the police service confirmed the deceased and the suspects were known to each other.
