Province sees largest one-day increase in COVID-19 cases during past month
Sunday saw Saskatchewan have its biggest one-day jump in new COVID-19 cases in just over a month. The Saskatchewan Health Authority confirmed 20 new cases, the most since the 21 cases that arose on May 20. May 4 saw the largest increase in a day, with 34.
Of Sunday’s new 20 cases, 18 of them are from the South region and two are in the Far North region. Both regions lead the province with the most active cases, with the Far North accounting for 44 and the South with 34. No other region has double digits in active cases, as Sasktaoon has eight, the North Region has two, while the Central region and Regina both have no active cases.
There are now 88 active cases in the province, with 746 total cases, 643 recoveries and 13 deaths.
Like there were on Saturday, three people are still in intensive care—two in the South and one in Saskatoon.
