P.A. gas station receiving tune-up

Jun 16, 2020 | 12:00 PM

A boarded up gas station in Prince Albert will be re-open for business in a couple months according to a spokesperson for Shell Canada.

A number of workers and trucks were seen last week at the company’s 15th St. E. location. The property itself has been fenced off by Keller Construction, and while the workers were on site, a section of the street was reduced to one lane.

Tara Lemay, a spokesperson for Shell Canada, informed paNOW the reason this location is closed at the moment is because the pump, tanks and lines are being replaced.

“We expect it to be operational late August,” she said.

Lemay further explained the work is a regular practice as pumps, tanks and lines have a limited lifetime.

According to a media release, Shell continues to grow its retail business in Canada, and has opened about 50 new retail sites a year across the country the last three years.
