Inmate recaptured without incident

An inmate reported missing from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary last week, is back in custody.

According to a media release from the Correctional Service of Canada, Carey Henry, 28, turned himself in to Saskatoon police Monday morning.

Henry was reported missing last Wednesday from the prison’s minimum security unit.

At the time of his disappearance, Henry was serving a sentence of four years and six months for failing to comply with condition of undertaking, obstruct public/police officer, possession of property obtained by crime $5,000, and two offences under the traffic safety act.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct its own investigation into the circumstances of Henry’s sudden disappearance.
