Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded to almost 100 incidents between Friday night and Sunday morning, including a crash involving wildlife and people getting hurt while on non-motorized vehicles.

According to a media release, paramedics responded to a vehicle which struck wildlife near the community of MacDowall on Highway 11. A woman, 57, as well as two other adults in their 20s, and three teenagers were injured. Parkland Ambulance said they were taken to local hospital in good and stable condition for further care.

Paramedics also report a skateboard and two bicycle incidents which resulted in minor injuries but in all three cases no one was wearing a helmet.

The agency said multisport or cycling helmets will reduce the severity of a head injury. Get one and wear it!
