Jun 1, 2020 | 9:01 AM

A garage, and two vehicles fell victim to a fire Sunday evening in Prince Albert’s west flat neighbourhood. The situation though could have been far worse.

Shortly before 8 p.m, the Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a single car detached garage on fire in the 800 block of 17th St. W.

On arrival the garage was found fully engulfed with a vehicle inside and a second one nearby. The fire was observed moving to the adjacent home.

The fire was quickly knocked down by the arriving crew. The garage and both vehicles were severely damaged. The home also sustained some fire damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The incident Sunday marks the seventh structure fire within a 10 block radius in the last two weeks.

Last Thursday morning, the fire department responded to a garage fire in the 900 block of 18th St. W. An abandoned home was consumed by fire Saturday morning in the 1400 block of 16th St. W.

At this stage, investigators have not confirmed if there is any connection between the fires.
