May 29, 2020 | 4:39 PM

A socially distant parade offered staff and participants at Kin Enterprises the chance to connect Friday.

The organization that provides training programs for adults with challenging abilities has been closed since March 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hillary Brahnuik, director of programs and services at Kin told paNOW staff and participants are missing each other.

“We’re used to seeing everybody on a daily basis,” Brahnuik said. “We always say this is our second home, this is our Kin family.”

Kin also acknowledged two long time employees before beginning the parade, promising to throw them a proper retirement party when public health orders are loosened. (Alison Sandstrom/paNOW Staff)

Around 40 vehicles took part in the parade.

Kin’s approximately 180 participants and their family members were invited to line the parade route the circled the city.

“This is really important for us to reach out to them and let them know the staff at Kin, we’re still doing okay,” Brahnuik said. “Unfortunately we’re still closed and we still think about them all the time.

Brahnuik said Kin Enterprises is working on phased plan for reopening but no dates have been set yet.
