Wildfire Update

English Creek fire not contained but decreasing slightly in size

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) provided an update to the English Creek Fire near Fort à la Corne on Saturday.

The wildfire has dropped slightly in size, from the 41,956 hectares is was on Friday to 41,362 hectares as of Saturday morning. The SPSA did say that despite the decrease in size, the fire is not contained.

The SPSA said it will continue to work on containing the wildfire, which began back on May 8, by utilizing both their land and air resources.

No public safety impacts or evacuations are expected.
