Art exhibition showcases teen talent

The Mann Art Gallery has announced the winners of the annual High School Juried Art Show.

After initial concerns that the early closure of schools would separate artists from their materials and work, curator Danielle Castle told paNOW she was amazed by the volume and quality of work she received.

“We have some really amazing young artists,” she said. “If you take a look at the pictures I am just blown away.”

The 76 works in the show can be viewed on the Mann Art Gallery’s website.

Prizes were awarded Thursday night during a virtual reception broadcast on YouTube and Facebook Live.

The final award, People’s Choice, sponsored by Kyla Artist Group will be announced on June 22. To vote, email educator@mannartgallery.ca with your selection. The deadline to vote is June 20.
