There are five new cases in the province’s Far North with three in the Beauval area and two more in La Loche.

The new cases bring the provincial total to 573.

Of the total cases across the province, 193 are considered active.

There have been 11 new recoveries, bringing the provincial total to 374.

Across the province, 48 cases are health care workers (although not all sourced their infections from work), 202 are from the Far North, 163 are from the Saskatoon area, 105 are from the North, 76 are from the Regina area, 15 are from the South and 12 are from the Central region.

There are 79 cases involving people aged 19 and under.

There are 201 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 178 in the 40 to 59 age range, 98 are in the 60 to 79 age range and 17 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty per cent of cases are females and 50 per cent are males.

Six people have died from COVID-19 in the province.

To date, the province has performed 37,695 COVID-19 tests.

SHA Senior Medical Health Officer Julie Kryzanowski said she’s concerned stigma is preventing people from getting tested for the virus.

In particular she said she’s seen health care workers, those who are sick, people from Northern communities and Indigenous people stigmatized.

“We should be celebrating those who are heading into the testing centres. They are doing their part. Please don’t stigmatize them. It could be other people today but it could be any of us tomorrow.”
