U of S psychology prof hopes to socially connect seniors
A Saskatoon psychology professor has started an initiative to help seniors who are feeling lonely due to self-isolation.
Dr. Megan O’Connell, a faculty member at the University of Saskatchewan, is inviting older people to contact her for help learning to use technology that can help them stay in touch with friends and family.
She’s also hoping to organize physically distant social groups.
“Maybe a gardening club, or an art club, or clubs who are interested in hearing academics talk about topics that might be of interest,” she explained.
