Apr 29, 2020 | 10:33 AM

The Prince Albert High Noon Optimist Club celebrates 40 years of serving the YOUTH of the community.

In 1980 a group of men who wanted to contribute to the YOUTH programs in the area chose Optimist International as an umbrella organization to foster this need. Sponsored by the Optimist Club of Prince Albert the PA HIGH NOON CLUB came into being.

The OI Charter was delivered April 28, 1980; to establish what was to become a lynchpin of service clubs dedicated to providing resources to a myriad of a varied needs which were identified.

The work of these dedicated volunteers has resulted in excess of over one million dollars being donated to local youth activities. The crowning jewel of accomplishments is the High Noon Optimist Center, 12th Street & 3rd Ave. West.

Initially purchased by the Club and now jointly operated with the Aerial gymnastics this facility has served thousands of aspiring athletes since opening over twenty years ago.

President Izabela Rozanowski is currently leading the HN Club through it’s goal of serving the youth of PA.

The onslaught of COVID-19 has resulted in HN Club members becoming more tech savvy and innovative.

A number of scheduled community activities are still in the planning stages as we grapple with venue closures and suspended programs.

However, as Optimists the glass is half full and we know that the future will be brighter. We promise – To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
