Car thief receives jail sentence

Apr 28, 2020 | 2:00 PM

A 20-year-old man who led police on a short chase through the city last week, while driving a stolen vehicle, has received a seven month jail sentence.

Sean Des Rabbitskin was charged with theft, dangerous driving and evading police in connection to the incident on April 21. The vehicle was stolen from the 400 block of 21 St. E. and eventually brought to a halt after police deployed a tire disabling device.

Rabbitskin’s jail sentence also incorporated two other unrelated charges stemming from an incident at Ricky’s Bar and Grill. On the afternoon of April 20, Rabbitskin wanted in to play VLT’s and have a drink but was turned away. The VLT’s are temporarily closed because of COVID-19 protocols.

Rabbitskin responded by pulling out a knife and caused some damage to the restaurant’s deck area before leaving. At the conclusion of his jail sentence, Rabbitskin will be on probation for one year.
