PAYSA Spring 2020 Soccer Season is cancelled

Although it may not come as a surprise, the Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association (PAYSA) announced it has cancelled the Spring 2020 Soccer Season.

According to a media release, representatives from the Canadian Soccer Association and the Saskatchewan Soccer Association met on a regular basis to discuss when and if soccer will resume.

“This is not the outcome the Board of Directors was hoping for, but with the directions of Saskatchewan Health, there was no other alternative,” the media release said.

The release added the focus is to protect the soccer family’s wellbeing. Most of the fields in the province will be closed until June 30 and they may not be open by summer or until social distancing restrictions are lifted.
