Four new COVID-19 cases brings provincial total to 320

As of today, April 21, the province has four new cases of COVID-19, two of which are from the Far North. The provincial total now stands at 320.

Of those cases, 64 are considered active. The provincial recovery total is 252, including 14 new recoveries.

There are five patients in hospitals across Saskatchewan. Four are receiving inpatient care and there is one person in intensive care.

Of the 320 cases, 135 are travellers, 134 are community transmissions (including mass gatherings), 31 have no known exposures and 20 are under investigation by public health.

There are 35 cases involving health care workers, but not all those infections were sourced at work.

In the Saskatoon area there are 150 cases, 71 from the Regina area, 60 from the North, 15 from the South, 11 from the central region and 13 from the Far North.

There are 25 cases involving people under the age of 19.

In the 20-39 age range there are 116 cases, 107 in the 40 to 59 age range, 63 in the 60 to 79 age range, and nine in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-two per cent of cases are males and 48 per cent of cases are females.

Four people have died from the virus in Saskatchewan.

In the province, 24,811 tests have been performed for the virus.
