Masella wins Raiders’ Humanitarian of the Year

Apr 15, 2020 | 5:39 PM

In his two and a half years as a Prince Albert Raider, Jeremy Masella did a lot more than just play hockey.

For the second consecutive year, Masella won the Raiders’ Travis Laycock Award as Humanitarian of the Year.

Masella was one of the Raiders’ champions for the financial literacy program with Conexus Credit Union, teaching students the importance of saving money and making sound financial decisions. Masella also participated in a ton of school visits with the Raiders as well.

“I’m super honoured to receive the Humanitarian of the Year Award,” Masella said. “Playing hockey in Prince Albert is nothing like anything I’ve ever experienced. You guys make it fun and easy to be a part of the community every day.”

Masella finished his WHL career with the Raiders as an overager. He’s committed to the Carleton University Ravens, as the USports team in Ottawa recruited him last Wednesday.
