Raider forward Ozzy Wiesblatt picked up some hardware this afternoon as he was named winner of the team’s Three Stars Award Presented by Redhead Equipment.

The award is determined by the Three Stars given out at the end of all games during the 2019-20 season, with Aliaksei Protas finishing as second star and Kaiden Guhle as third.

“I’m very honoured and humbled to have received this award,” Wiesblatt said in a video shared by the Raiders today.

“I would just link to thank my teammates for pushing me every day and making me a better hockey player and person off the ice. I would like to thank my coaches for pushing me every day and always giving me a challenge. And the management and staff, [thank you for the] work that not many people see, it doesn’t go unnoticed.”

A top prospect for the 2020 NHL Draft, Wiesblatt’s star shined bright for the Raiders this year as he finished second on the team with 70 points in 64 games played after compiling 39 points as a 16-year-old rookie last year.

Wiesblatt is one of four Raiders, along with Guhle, defenceman Landon Kosior, and forward Ilya Usau ranked by NHL Central Scouting for the upcoming draft. Wiesblatt is ranked 19th among all North American Skaters.
