P.A. city council to test out new meeting format Monday night

Apr 6, 2020 | 1:56 PM

For the first time since early March, all eight councillors are expected to attend Monday evening’s city council meeting, thanks to a new format that will have four join via teleconferencing.

The other four, plus the mayor will be in the council chamber.

The set-up is in response to a provincial public health order banning gatherings of more than 10 people to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Items on Monday’s agenda include preparations for the upcoming November municipal election, a potential tax exemption for a new retail development and the first phase of multi-million dollar renovations at the waste water treatment plant.
