COVID-19 Closures

Provincial parks closed, camping season delayed

Apr 1, 2020 | 5:23 PM

In the wake of multiple closures and delays amid the global pandemic, provincial parks are now on the list.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, camping reservations and the start of camping season is delayed until further notice. Reservations were scheduled to open on April 13 and camping season was set to begin on the May long weekend — both are suspended.

“We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will follow the advice of health officials to adjust our business practices as needed,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Gene Makowsky said. “The health and safety of our visitors and staff is the priority. We know campers will be eager to enjoy the outdoors in our beautiful parks, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back when it is safe.”

The provincial parks are closed as are washrooms, visitor centres, picnic areas, campgrounds and campsites. Since park offices are closed, staff members are still available for questions via phone (1-800-205-7070) or email parks.info@gov.sk.ca.

Campers who had reservations booked for May will have bookings automatically cancelled. Fees will be refunded.

An update from Sask Parks will be provided in the coming weeks.
