Saskatchewan sees eight new cases of COVID-19

Saskatchewan reported eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday afternoon.

The total number of cases in the province is now at 52, with 33 confirmed according to a provincial government news release.

The province did not give specifics regarding the precise locations of the additional cases.

One case involves a person in their late teens while the rest are adults.

As well, 62 per cent of the cases are male, while 38 per cent are female.

At the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory, 4,536 tests have been performed.

The public is being urged to practice social distancing, or avoiding close contact with others, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

The minimum distance people should keep between each other is two metres.

Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab will be speaking about the latest case numbers on Monday afternoon.
