Prince Albert city hall closed

Mar 20, 2020 | 5:01 PM

Prince Albert city hall closed it doors to the public as of 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

In a press release the city said the measure was taken to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

This follows the closure of most other city facilities on Tuesday, and new provincial restrictions along with Prince Albert’s first presumptive cases of COVID-19 announced on Friday.

Water bills and property taxes can be paid electronically through financial institutions, by mail, or by using the drop box at the entrance of city hall.

Parking tickets and business licenses can also be paid online.

Full information on payment is available on the city’s website.

All valid March 2020 bus passes will be honored through April 30. Riders just need to present their March pass to the driver.

New bus passes can still be purchased at Crescent Height Pharmacy, Gray Chemists, Medical Pharmacy and PBCN Petro Canada.

Inquiries about permits, the city’s impound lot and cemetary can be made by phone or email. Contact information is on the city’s website.

City hall staff will be available via phone or email Monday to Friday during regular business hours.

Monday’s public executive committee meeting is cancelled. A special city council meeting to discuss COVID-19 and civic and in-city school board elections will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
