P.A. closes city facilities
Non-essential Prince Albert city facilities, including arenas and the library have closed. The measures were announced Tuesday afternoon to limit the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
City Hall remains open but the public is being encouraged to do business over the phone or online.
In a media release, the city emphasized there are no reported cases of the virus in Prince Albert, but the decision was made based on low attendance and the need for caution.
“We’ve had a chance to meet with our emergency response staff and to communicate the change in service to our employees,” Jim Toye, City Manager said. “This was a difficult decision but one that will allow us to focus our attention on our essential services.”
