The central offices for the Rural Municipalities (RM) of Prince Albert, Buckland and the Prince Albert Rural Water Utility have been temporarily closed following word that a person with a possible case of COVID-19 was in contact with several employees and members of Council for both R.M.’s.

According to a statement Sunday night by both RM of Prince Albert Reeve Eric Schmalz and RM of Buckland Reeve Don Fyrk, this short-term closure is in response to “information received late in the day on Sunday March 15, 2020.”

The operations divisions of both RMs and the Water Utility will remain open and will continue to serve residents and utility subscribers. The RMs also indicate updates and information regarding the temporary closure will be provided through conventional media outlets as well as the social media accounts for the respective municipalities.

“The RM of Prince Albert, The RM of Buckland, the Prince Albert District Planning Commission and the Prince Albert Rural Water Utility take the health and wellbeing of the public and their employees very seriously. Should this closure need to be extended beyond a few days, contact information will be provided to the public for the purposes of conducting business with any of the affected municipalities or services.”
