Esso Cup announces new fan events
Amid concerns that COVID-19 could see the event cancelled or postponed, organizers of the Esso Cup say they’re confident Canada’s top midget female hockey tournament will go on as planned.
On Thursday at the Art Hauser Centre, organizers announced new sponsors and fan events with just 38 days remaining in the countdown to the cup.
Over 1,400 students from elementary schools in the area will be bused in to watch the noon games from Monday to Thursday courtesy of the Broda Group of Companies.
Cup Chair Robin Wildey told paNOW aside from creating a great atmosphere for the players, seeing the games will inspire young fans of the sport.
