The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes North have arrested 42-year-old Steven Veilleux and 40-year-old Jodie Lynn Veilleux from Prince Albert in connection with the disappearance of Allan Douglas Garrioch, 20, of Humboldt, Sask.

According to a media release, the pair were arrested on March 4 around 5:30 p.m. after a 2004 blue Jeep Cherokee didn’t stop for police. The driver and passenger were confirmed to be involved in the disappearance of Garrioch.

The RCMP were in pursuit of the two on a chase that started on a gravel road south of Davis, Sask. and ended in Weldon, Sask. after the suspects’ vehicle got stuck in a ditch.

The male fled from the vehicle and Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services located him hiding in a bush. The woman was found in the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, and Steven Veilleux faces multiple charges including first-degree murder, indignity to a body and kidnapping while using a firearm. Jodie Lynn Veilleux is also facing multiple charges including forcible confinement, kidnapping while using a firearm and assault with a weapon.

Steven Veilleux is the father of Brettin Andrew Veilleux-Pelletier who was arrested March 3 in relation to the disappearance of the Humboldt man. Jodie Lynn Veilleux is also his stepmother.

They are scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
