Home invasion suspect pleads not guilty

Jan 25, 2020 | 8:00 AM

A violent home invasion in Prince Albert last fall will be discussed in greater detail at a trial in Prince Albert this spring.

Anthony Badger Jr., one of two people charged in connection to the incident last October, has pled not guilty to various charges including possession of a weapon, uttering threats, robbery and forcible confinement.

At a hearing Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court, trial dates were scheduled for March 25 and 27, 2020. Badger appeared via video from the Prince Albert Correctional Centre, and his lawyer Patrick McDougall spoke on his behalf.

Badger’s father was also present in the court room for the hearing.

On Oct. 3, 2019, police responded to a residence in the 3000 block of sixth Ave. E. The victim had been tied up, and threatened with a shotgun, before the suspects stole his vehicle. The co-accused Jenna Lee McGillivary entered guilty pleas earlier this month and received a four year sentence.
