Jan 24, 2020 | 5:28 PM

Robyn Silvernagle and her team return to the ice in Melville Friday, for the Viterra Scotties Woman’s Provincial Championship, with the chance to represent Saskatchewan at the annual Scotties Tournament of Hearts, held this year in Moose Jaw.

Silvernagle and her rink won the tournament last year, on their way to clinching a bronze medal finish at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, held last year in Sydney, N.S.

This year’s tournament in Melville, will make Saskatchewan Curling history when the 12 women’s teams hit the ice inside the Horizon Credit Union Centre Friday.

The event marks the first time in Saskatchewan both the Women’s & Men’s Provincial Championship events will share the same venue in consecutive weeks.

Silvernagle and her team have been busy this season, as they attended three Grand Slam of Curling events in addition to making a few tour stops along the way.

Their best showings have been a pair of fifth-place finishes at the Grand Slam of Curling Boost National in Conception Bay, NL., and the Booster Juice Shoot-out in Edmonton, Alta.

The Viterra Scotties Women’s Provincial Championship will begin with Draw 1 taking action Friday @ 2 p.m. Team Silvernagle will take the ice for their opening draw Friday night at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of Schneider and Fleming.
