The Prince Albert Firefighters’ third annual 2020 Magic Variety Show is right around the corner.

On Friday at 7 p.m. at the Plaza 88 Event Centre an all ages production featuring magic, comedy, and illusions will take the stage.

Chairman of the Prince Albert Firefighters’ Charity Burn Fund, Joel Perreault, said the show features three different acts and is catered to a younger audience.

“From last year’s attendance and results, everybody was very happy. Kids had lots of fun; they really engaged the crowd. It’s just a great time,” Perreault said.

Partnered up with CoHo Productions, Perreault said the proceeds go toward local activities and the provincial burn fund, which donates to the burn units in Saskatoon and Regina.

This year features three new acts: Magician Kel, Charles Chesterfield, and comedy magician Chris Lopez will take the stage.

Last year Perreault said they raised over $3,600 and this year’s proceeds have already exceeded that amount with increased ticket sales. He added there are still many more tickets for sale.

Tickets can be purchased at the Prince Albert Fire Department or at the door at the Plaza 88 Event Centre.

“Kids just love it. We have a lot of repeat people coming again this year,” Perreault said. “They say they really enjoyed it. Just the atmosphere in the room of the kids laughing and you can tell they’re engaged, they’re having fun, and they’re looking forward to coming again this year.”

Perreault said multiple businesses and personal donations have sponsored the less fortunate to attend the show.

“I’m very, very thankful for those businesses within Prince Albert and surrounding area and the personal donations that have come through,” he said.
