‘I’ve never seen a shotgun from that angle’: alleged car jacking victim shares story

Jan 20, 2020 | 4:37 PM

As police search for the people responsible for an early morning armed robbery in Prince Albert, a 65-year-old man is sharing more about his encounter.

For the purpose of anonymity paNOW has chosen not to identify him. The incident happened around 8:10 a.m. this morning when the man pulled into the Gateway Mall’s back parking lot behind the food court where he was about to start his daily walk.

“I just saw a dark, black truck pull in behind me so I locked my vehicle. Then a guy jumped out with a shot gun, put it in my face and said ‘Give me your [expletive] keys’ so I just threw my keys and took off,” he said.

The man’s vehicle, a gold tone 2005 Honda CRV was stolen. He told paNOW there were two other passengers in the black truck.

The CRV was found abandoned later today on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

“Oh it was scary. I’ve never seen a shotgun from that angle,” the man said.

While the man was not physically hurt, he said he was very shaken up by what happened.

paNOW will continue to follow this story and will publish more information as it is made available.
