Soyko sisters sign commitment with Pronghorns

The Soyko sisters will bring their talents to Lethbridge next season.

Abby Soyko and Alli Soyko, who are the Prince Albert hockey playing duo of the Soyko triplets, committed to the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns women’s hockey team.

“We are happy that Abby and Alli Soyko have committed to the Pronghorns for the 2020-2021 season,” Pronghorns Head Coach Doug Paisley said in a statement. “Abby and Alli come with great experience playing on good midget teams including the 2016-17 P.A. Bears that won the SFMAAAHL and earned the opportunity to play in the 2017 Esso Cup.”

“Both are hardworking, gritty players with high hockey IQ and both will have an immediate positive impact on our lineup next season and we are looking forward to them joining the Pronghorn Family come next September.”

Both Abby and Alli are playing on the Northern Alberta Extreme of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League in their 18-year-old season. Abby leads the team with seven goals and 14 points in 15 games. Alli is fourth in team scoring with three goals and eight points in 14 games.

The Soyko’s both played for the Prince Albert Northern Bears, winning the 2016-17 Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League championship. Abby holds the all-time Bears’ records with 65 goals and 128 points in her 136 games with the Bears from 2014 to 2019. Alli played 85 games from 2015-19 with the Bears, scoring 10 goals and 36 points in that span.
